Former WWE Superstar Cain Velasquez also spoke about his unforgettable bout with Brock Lesnar and experiences working with the Beast Incarnate. We end the news roundup with fan reactions to Uncle Howdy’s latest appearance, as many seem to have identified the man behind the mask.

On that note, here’s the latest WWE news roundup for 2022!

#1. Is former ROH star Vincent the man who plays Uncle Howdy?

The latest episode of SmackDown featured some unexpected moments when Uncle Howdy hit Bray Wyatt with the Sister Abigail finisher.

The show kicked off with the former Universal Champion accepting LA Knight’s challenge to a WWE Royal Rumble match. Uncle Howdy interrupted the process and, instead of helping Wyatt, attacked him.

While fans have speculated for weeks about Uncle Howdy’s identity, a former ROH star’s cryptic tweet may have revealed a closely guarded secret. ‘The Horror King’ Vincent took to Twitter earlier today and posted a rather interesting tweet after the opening segment of SmackDown.

Twitterati noticed the physical similarities between Vincent and Uncle Howdy, and he pretty much addressed the comparison by tweeting the following:

are? Well, that’s relative… do you understand what I’m saying?

While recent rumors support the alleged claim, the WWE Universe also seemed convinced that Vincent was indeed Uncle Howdy, as you can see from the reactions below:

The former IMPACT Wrestling star has been in the business since 2012 and was most recently spotted out in the crowd during an episode of NXT alongside his tag team partner Dutch.

Are they involved in the ongoing Bray Wyatt story? We should have a clearer picture in the coming weeks.

The former UFC Heavyweight Champion had a pretty much normal run in WWE as he fought his only televised match against Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel 2019. Cain Velasquez lost to Beast Incarnate in one of the most bizarre matches in recent memory. .

Velasquez was eventually released from his 2020 contract as part of company-wide budget cuts, and recently spoke at length with about his experience working with Lesnar.

While Velasquez and Lesnar had already crossed paths inside the UFC Octagon, orchestrating a wrestling match didn’t seem like the easiest thing to do, considering their rivalry.

Cain explained that while there were no issues between them, setting up the match with Brock Lesnar made him a little uncomfortable.

“Yes, professional, and I would say it was a little uncomfortable [planning out the match with Brock Lesnar]… Working with Brock was interesting, man, I’ll just say… It was very different. You kind of learn from your life, and that’s okay, that was it. I know next time if something else happens next time, but… With Brock, it was kind of like that, and again.

Cain Velasquez has had a rough time due to an attempted murder charge following a shooting earlier this year.

The MMA legend is currently on bail and received a hero’s welcome when he recently returned to the squared circle.

#3. John Cena cuts an emotional promo after WWE SmackDown

Fans were treated to a high-profile main event on the last SmackDown as John Cena, and Kevin Owens handed Roman Reigns’ Bloodline a rare defeat. The babyfaces got the better of Sami Zayn and The Tribal Chief and closed out 2022 on a positive note.

John Cena looked phenomenal as ever in the ring as he continued his wrestling streak every year since his debut. The Cenation Leader, however, wasn’t done after the show ended when he took the mic to reveal why he chose to return for a match in Tampa Bay.

As you can see in the clip below, a passionate John Cena addressed the crowd and thanked them for their support.

“I just want to say thank you so much for the greatest gift you can give, which is allowing me to step in this ring for 20 consecutive years. I’ve had a fight at least every year since I started in 2002… then I found out that the last one event of the year was right in my backyard in Tampa Bay.

The 16-time world champion should also be at WrestleMania, as the company has lined up a big opponent for him. Here’s what WWE is cooking up for John Cena in regards to WrestleMania 39.
