Prince Harry is questioned after the Queen Mother's mistake in 'Spare'

Prince Harry’s credibility is being questioned after an apparent error in his controversial memoir, “Spare”, about the death of his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

In the book, the 38-year-old Duke of Sussex recalls the exact moment he was alerted that the late Queen Elizabeth II’s mother, the Queen Mother Elizabeth II, had died in March 2002.

Harry claims he was at her posh UK boarding school, Eton, when he learned that she had passed away in her sleep aged 101.

“At Eton, while I was studying, I got a call. I wish I could remember whose voice it was on the other end; of a courtier, I believe,” wrote the prince.

He continued: “I remember it was just before Easter, the weather was clear and warm, the light streaming in through my window, full of vivid colors. Her Royal Highness The Queen Mother has died.”

However, several reports contradict Harry’s claim that he was at school, stating that he was actually on a ski trip in Klosters, Switzerland with his father, King Charles III, and his brother, Prince William, at the time of the Queen Mother’s death.

There are also photos that show that Harry was in fact returning to the UK from Switzerland the day after his great-grandmother died.

The inconsistency has led many to question whether other parts of Harry’s book could be incorrect.

“Harry can’t even remember where he was when the Queen Mother died, so his recollections are unreliable. And he has an agenda, so he lacks impartiality,” one person tweeted on Tuesday.

“However, it’s day one since the release of #SpareUs and it’s already clear that Harry has fabricated large portions of the book to support his false victimization,” another Twitter user claimed. “He was not at Eton when the Queen Mother died and was not informed by a ‘random courtier’. He’s a liar and a loser, period.

“Honestly is always the best policy, otherwise memories will definitely vary!!! 🤣,” a third person I wrote.

Critics then highlighted another detail about a gift Princess Diana allegedly gave Harry that also appeared to be wrong.

In his book, Harry wrote that his late mother bought him an Xbox for his 13th birthday in 1997, shortly before she died.

However, the Mirror reports that Xboxes didn’t exist until 2001 and the games console didn’t even hit shelves in Europe until a year later.

“Seems like the book is a bit hazy actually,” one person tweeted in response to the Xbox contradiction.

Other agreed, “That’s the problem with a lot of lies. You lose track, get cocky and forget to research.”

Others pointed out, though, that Harry may have just been mistaking the type of gaming system he was given, with supporters noting that he could have gotten a PlayStation or Nintendo 64 and was just “confused”.

Harry made several scathing accusations about members of his royal family in the book, which officially came out on Tuesday, and have now been called into question.

The red-haired royal accused Charles of referring to him as a “spare” on the day he was born and allegedly told Diana: “Now you have given me an heir and a spare – my work is done.”

He also claimed that William physically attacked him after getting into an argument over his wife, Meghan Markle.

Harry has also gone after the Prince of Wales’s wife Kate Middleton, claiming she brought Markle to tears before the wedding.

The Duke also dragged Charles’ wife, Queen Consort Camilla, and claimed that he and Prince William asked their father not to marry her.

Harry and Markle, 41, have been at odds with family members since stepping down from their royal duties in 2020 and moving to California, where they now reside with their two children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1.

Tensions have grown stronger since the Sussexes continued to air their family’s dirty laundry.

In addition to Harry’s memoir, the couple released a Netflix documentary, “Harry & Meghan”, which was also met with a lot of backlash.

The pair have also given several bombshell interviews, including one in 2021 with Oprah Winfrey and, most recently, a solo Harry did with Anderson Cooper on “60 Minutes.”
