King Charles III is reportedly eager to reconcile with Prince Harry, contrary to the Duke of Sussex’s recent claim.

“Those close to the king insist he has always made it clear how much he loves his two children, keeping the lines of communication open over the last few years despite California’s many barbs,” the Telegraph reported on Tuesday, citing sources.

Informants told the British newspaper that Harry’s side of the story was “wrong”, adding that Charles, 74, and his youngest son, 38, kept in touch and met several times during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. in June 2022.

Their relationship “has occasionally been strained”, but the monarch “reiterated that his door remains open and that the Duke and [Meghan Markle] are welcome at any time,” according to the report.

Despite their strained bond, Charles is expected to invite Harry and Markle, 41, to his May 6 coronation.

Harry claimed in a recently released clip from his upcoming ITV interview that his family had “showed absolutely no desire to reconcile”, telling journalist Tom Bradby: “I would love to have my dad back. I wish I had my brother [Prince William] back.”

In Harry and Markle’s Netflix documentary series, “Harry & Meghan”, the couple chronicled the difficulties they faced before stepping down as senior member of the royal family in 2020.

The red-haired royal revealed in an episode that William, 40, flew into a rage during a family gathering after he and Markle announced their plan to move to America.

“It was scary to see my brother yelling and screaming at me, and my father saying things that just weren’t true, and my grandmother sitting silently and just taking it all in,” he said.

Harry also said he doubts he will ever receive a real apology from his family.

“I had to come to terms with the fact that we will probably never get genuine accountability or a genuine apology,” he told viewers. “My wife and I are moving forward. We are focused on what comes next.”

The king reportedly did not watch the series, but said he was “deeply saddened” by the criticism leveled at him and his family.

Bradby’s interview airs Jan. 8 and will be followed by another conversation Harry had with Anderson Cooper for “60 Minutes.”

The talks are the start of a tour in support of Harry’s long-awaited memoir, “Spare”, which will be released on January 10 and deals with his life inside and outside the royal family.
