Ellie Goulding squashed long-standing rumors that she cheated on Ed Sheeran with One Direction band member Niall Horan many years ago.
Goulding addressed the unfounded rumors when a netizen commented on her TikTok video from last week, where she was dancing to Prep’s cover of the Harry Styles song “As It Was.”
“Quick boob check so we groovin birthday 🤣🖤,” she captioned the video posted on Saturday.
One TikToker decided to get in personal contact with Goulding and accuse her of being unfaithful.

But the “Lights” singer quickly dismissed the accusation, replying: “False!!!!! But also kill.”
Goulding, 36, and Sheeran, 31, first sparked dating rumors when they were seen holding hands while sitting in the audience together at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.
While Goulding denied that they were a couple, Sheeran allegedly hinted that they were dating in an interview that year before admitting that things ended as quickly as they started.
“I mean, normal people don’t hold hands if they’re just friends,” Sheeran told Washington radio station Click 98.9 (via Us Weekly) at the time, before adding, “It was happening. And now it’s not.
But long-standing speculation that Goulding cheated on the “Shape of You” singer swirled when he released his 2014 hit “Don’t.” Lyrics by him seemed to suggest that he had been cheated on and many fans concluded that Goulding was the cheater in question.
“And I never saw him as a threat (you bastard) / Until you took him off to get laid. Of course / It’s not like the two of us were on tour / We were staying on the same floor in the hotel / And I wasn’t looking for a promise or commitment / But it was never just fun, and I thought you were different,” Sheeran sings in his music.
An English publication claimed that the lyrics were about Goulding cheating on Sheeran with Horan.
“I never let go [who the song was about]”, Sheeran told Entertainment Weekly in May 2015. “What happened is one of the newspapers in England just published that it was confirmed when it never was.”
Goulding and Horan, now 29, reportedly had an affair that year and sparked dating rumors when they were spotted looking cozy at the V Festival during a Kings of Leon set.
But Goulding finally ended the years-long conversation thanks to his direct ok TikTok response.

Sheeran has since moved on with Cherry Seaborn, whom he initially met in high school. He confirmed that they were married in 2019 and share two daughters: Lyra Antarctica, 2, and Jupiter, 9 months.
Meanwhile, Goulding married Caspar Jopling in 2019 and has a 1-year-old son, Arthur Ever Winter.
