College basketball picks, schedule: Duke v Miami predictions and 25 more games on Saturday

featured image

Saturday’s college basketball roster is shaping up to be a doozy with the potential for fireworks scattered throughout the day. With 14 ranked teams on the road, most of which are narrow favorites or narrow underdogs, we could be in for a noisy day in the sport that could shake things up yet again just a week after a Saturday roster that saw 11 ranked teams stumble — the highest number in a single day since 2011.

In the ACC, #10 Virginia and #17 Miami are on the road in Wake Forest and Duke, respectively. In the Big 12, No. 7 Texas draws a tough roadie West Virginia, while No. 12 Iowa State and No. 21 Baylor travel to Sooner State to face Oklahoma State and Oklahoma State, respectively. . At the SEC, No.

Chaos abounds, so prepare accordingly.

Below, our experts have picks and predictions for the biggest games of the day in what looks to be one of the best independent lists of the season so far.

#17 Miami at Duke

featured game | Duke Blue Devils vs Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes

12 pm | ESPN, fuboTV (Try It Free) — Inside Cameron Indoor Stadium and coming off a loss to Clemson with a week to prepare, Duke looks like the chalk to play here as a narrow favorite to defend its home field advantage. But some of us, myself included, like Miami at this point to make the W straight up. With Jeremy Roach still out, the Blue Devils’ backcourt is still a sore spot and Miami’s guard play, among the best in the ACC, is well positioned to take advantage. Forecast: Miami +5.5 — Boone

featured game | Kansas Jayhawks vs TCU Horned Frogs

1 pm | CBS,, CBS Sports App (Free) — Those teams split their series last season, and TCU almost got their first win at Kansas before the Jayhawks made a late defensive stop in a close game. The Horned Frogs are a veteran squad that won’t be intimidated by the boisterous atmosphere inside the Allen Fieldhouse. They already have a Big 12 win at Baylor and believe they can get another one. The Jayhawks are a better bet to win outright because of their dominance at home, but it would be a surprise if TCU easily folds in this top-15 battle. Prediction: TCU +7.5 — David Cobb

featured game | Arizona Wildcats vs UCLA Bruins

2 pm | ABC, fuboTV (Try it free) — This has a chance to be the best game on the plate on Saturday. UCLA, a 14-game winner behind a top-five defense, heads into the desert to face an Arizona team that, when it’s right, arguably has the most explosive offense in the sport. Zona has looked deadly in points this season, even at home, so I’m riding with the road team as the Bruins look to stay warm. Prediction: UCLA -1 — Boone

At the. 7 Texas in West Virginia

featured game | West Virginia Mountaineers vs Texas Longhorns

18 pm | ESPN, fuboTV (Try It Free) — West Virginia is a stingy team to play in Morgantown, West Virginia, but this is a line that seems out of whack. Texas has more talent, a better overall roster, and a body of work that dwarfs that of WVU, which outside of a win over TCU this week has lost five of its last six. Texas +1.5

At the. 4 Alabama in Missouri

featured game | Missouri Tigers vs Alabama Crimson Tide

18 pm | SEC Network, fuboTV (Try it Free) — My favorite boring pick of the week here. Bama won 16-2 and won 11 of 12, while Mizzou has recently fallen with three losses in their last five after a 12-1 start. The Tigers, out of Kansas, attacking them at home earlier this season, were nailed at home. I like that they give Bama a big push at this point. Missouri +6 — Boone
