Joe Rogan mocks Andrew Tate’s arrest, praises Greta Thunberg’s tweet

Andrew Tate’s attorney has stated that there is “no evidence” to support allegations of human trafficking, rape or organized crime against him or his brother.

The 36-year-old former professional kickboxer turned controversial influencer and his brother Tristan were detained in Romania last month as part of an investigation by Romania’s organized crime department.

Eugen Vidineac, who represents the two brothers, told the Romanian news website Gandul the defense did not have an opportunity to study the prosecution’s file for the case.

“I would like to emphasize right away that, until now, the criminal investigation file has not been made available to us to guarantee the effective defense of our clients.

“In that sense, I would like to point out, at least from this point of view, I am also somewhat amazed, there is not a single piece of evidence other than the victim’s testimony that leads to the idea that a crime of rape has been committed.”

Earlier, local media reported that the Tate brothers were rushed to the hospital after a medical examination.

Tate brothers couldn’t understand why they were in custody, says lawyer

In a video with translated captions posted on Andrew Tate’s Twitter account, Eugen Vidineac, a lawyer for Tate and his brother Tristan, said it took the brothers “some time to understand” why they were in custody.

The brothers, both with British citizenship, were arrested along with two Romanians on Dec. 29 as part of an investigation into organized crime, human trafficking and rape.

The duo plans to appeal.

Mr. Vidineac previously said there was no evidence for the allegations against Mr. Tate and his co-accused.

Andrew Tate’s misogyny allegations ‘taken out of context’, says lawyer

More from Eugen Vidineac, the lawyer representing the Tate brothers:

Speaking about allegations that men looked down on women, Vidineac said: “They say these issues are taken out of context, from some interviews they’ve done on social media.

“But they also say that if we live our lives surrounded by 300+ people, women and men, we will have a lot of girlfriends and supporters all over the world, we will be in public all the time with our girlfriends, and there have been no complaints from our girlfriends.

“People have come out in public and said that they’ve been with one of the Tate brothers and that he’s not the violent, uneducated, abusive character he’s being portrayed right now.”

Tate has come under a lot of criticism in recent weeks, particularly for his views on women, who have been denounced as misogynistic.

In a video where he is seen discussing feminism, Tate said that women should “shut up, have kids, sit at home, be quiet and make coffee”.

Andrew Tate’s Online ‘Character’ Cannot Be Used as Evidence, Lawyer Claims

Eugen Vidineac, who represents Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, told the Romanian online newspaper Gandul that the far-right influencer’s online persona could not be used against him in court.

The attorney said he believes the character someone like Tate portrays on social media cannot be used as evidence in a criminal trial as it may not reflect who they are in real life.

Speaking about the role that social media can play in the case, Mr. Vidineac said: “In the case of the Tate brothers, I don’t know what their intent was in promoting themselves on social media, but I sit here and ask myself: can social media intent serve as evidence in a criminal case, as far as a criminal character?”

The Romanian anti-organized crime agency Diicot said two British and two Romanian nationals were suspected of being part of a criminal group focused on human trafficking on 29 December.

Their appeals will be heard against a judge’s decision to extend their arrest warrants from 24 hours to 30 days, Diicot added.

Lawyers for Andrew Tate say rape and trafficking allegations lack evidence

The lawyer representing Andrew Tate said there is “no evidence” to support the allegations of human trafficking, rape or organized crime against the 36-year-old social media influencer or his brother Tristan.

Eugen Vidineac, who represents the two brothers, told the Romanian online newspaper Gandul the defense did not have an opportunity to study the prosecution’s file for the case.

The lawyer said that several electronic devices were seized in April last year and subjected to computer searches.

He added: “I will point out from the beginning that, until now, the criminal investigation process has not been made available to us to ensure the effective defense of our customers.

“In that sense, I would like to point out, at least from this point of view, I am also somewhat amazed, there is not a single piece of evidence other than the victim’s testimony that leads to the idea that a crime of rape has been committed.”

Asked what evidence there was to support a human trafficking crime, Mr. Vidineac said: “In my opinion, there is also no evidence, and I am speaking of evidence that leads, by itself or directly, to the formation of an opinion of reasonable suspicion as to the commission of crimes foreseen and punishable by criminal law.”

Andrew Tate’s account reposts

Andrew Tate’s account posted another tweet referencing the “Matrix”, after an earlier post that said it was responsible for “attacking” him.

Tate has previously stated that he believes reality is a “Matrix” – referring to Keanu Reeves’ dystopian sci-fi film where people are guided by computers to work until they die.

The last tweet from his account, which also shared a message attributed to Tate’s lawyer, read: “The Matrix don’t play fair, they play to win.”

In a recent exchange with climate activist Greta Thunberg, Tate posted a bizarre video in which he accused Thunberg of being a “slave to the Matrix.”

Here’s How To Beat Toxic Men Like Andrew Tate | comment

Sufyan Ahmedon the toxic culture behind the jailed influencer: The news of Andrew Tate’s arrest has been met with relief by many, hoping it will put an end to his relevance. However, in my opinion (and experience), the damage is done. Tate’s views, amplified by social media, have already led to the manipulation of vast numbers of young people in my generation, and without urgent intervention, we could end up with a lost generation of young people. Let me tell you what I saw.

There is no denying the immense reach achieved by Tate. He was the most searched man on Google during the summer of 2022. Videos with his hashtag have amassed 13 billion views on TikTok. Currently, their mentorship scheme has 160,000 paying subscribers.

Once you delve into what Tate preaches to the masses, his social media reach is daunting. Tate made comments such as “women bear some responsibility for rape”; she compared women to dogs and proudly confessed in a video with a fellow YouTuber to being an “absolute misogynist”, stating that he was indeed a “realist” and “when you’re realistic, you’re sexist”. The amplification of these visions should terrify everyone.
