Good Morning, New York Giants fans!
Giants Injury Report Wednesday: CB Adoree’ Jackson Returns to Practice
Adoree’ Jackson, sidelined since Week 11 with a sprained MCL, returned to practice Wednesday for the New York Giants. Coach Brian Daboll said before practice that Jackson would be “doing some stuff”. He was officially listed as a limited practice participant.
Jackson, the Giants’ top cornerback, has been out of the lineup since he was injured returning a punt against the Detroit Lions.
Daboll did not guarantee, of course, that Jackson would play Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. Wednesday, however, is the first time Jackson has trained since he was injured.

New York Giants Players Praise Brian Daboll’s Brash Behavior | Sports Illustrated
Left tackle Andrew Thomas, who generally has a flawless, error-free game, recalled when he was criticized by the head coach.
“I think it was the Chicago game. I had a mental error – I took the wrong path. It could have been a great move and he was all over me,” he said. “That’s what you want from your leader, to hold him accountable.”
“He is in a different zone now”
Isaiah Hodgins Earns Trust From New York Giants Coaches, Teammates | usa today
“He has been very consistent for us. He did a great job moving the sticks around. He’s a little bit thicker. And he does a good job making contested receptions, making receptions in the middle of the field – that kind of business,” Slayton said. “But as he showed the other day, he hit (Vikings cornerback) Patrick Peterson with a double move and he also went a little way downfield. Sometimes he tends to think a little too much of his speed, but he can run. So he’s been a good addition to our team and I’m happy to have him.”
6 NFL Players On Offense Ending 2022 Season On An Unexpected Wave | grandstand report
Isaiah Hodgins has provided a much-needed spark for the New York Giants’ passing attack since debuting with them in Week 10. A sole rights free agent this offseason, Hodgins has played well enough that New York will likely prioritize re-signing him .
Landon Collins: How the NY Giants Player Played Waiting for the Game to Win a Role | the record
If the Giants beat the Colts (4-10-1), they will return to the postseason. Perhaps it’s fate that this Sunday at MetLife Stadium is Collins’ first home game since he left after the 2018 season.
“It seems like forever ago,” Collins said with a smile.
Giants S Julian Love on facing Colts: ‘We all know what Nick Foles is capable of’ | SNY.tv
“We all know what Nick Foles is capable of and you have to be prepared for that. He’s a guy who’s been there, who’s accomplished great things. He’s a guy you can’t sleep with, frankly. He’s got the experience you need to be at your best game for sure,” said safety Julian Love.
Giants aware of their winning position and playoff ranking | new york post
With an NFL-record 8-3-1 in 12 games decided by a scoreboard, the Giants believe they can make game-winning plays.
“Once you get to the playoffs, the difficulty level of winning each of those games over the course of the rounds increases, and the chances of you taking someone out get smaller and smaller,” Slayton said. “The reality is that you will have to win close games to be successful in the playoffs. So I definitely think playing more throughout the season helps.”
Giants’ Passing Attack Soars as Daniel Jones Throws for Unlikely Catch Trio | NJ.com
In seven games, the trio combined for 87 receptions, 1,089 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Slayton has 28 catches for 478 yards and one touchdown since Week 10 and James, who didn’t even play an offense in Week 10, has a team-high 30 catches for 302 yards and three touchdowns.
The combined 87 receptions are the 11th most among NFL wide receiver trios since the Giants’ bye week. Dallas’ top three receivers have just one left this stretch and Philadelphia’s top trio receivers have just two left. The Giants’ top three receivers’ seven TDs over the past seven weeks are tied for ninth with Buffalo and Cincinnati. The Eagles and Seahawks have the most, with 11.

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Bryce Young Goes to the Houston Texans in First Place | PFF
23. NEW YORK GIANTS: QB ANTHONY RICHARDSON, FLORIDA. Anthony Richardson is heading to the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. That’s not a question worth asking, in my opinion. The questions are how high and for which team. Even with his current inconsistent accuracy (63.8% adjusted completion percentage), his athletic ability as a runner and incredible arm talent make it look like he won’t last long in the order. If you do, I’d love to see a coach like Brian Daboll get the chance to mold him.
Giants Now: 15 Year Anniversary of ‘Paradoxical’ Giants-Patriots Final | giants.com
“I have to tell one more story because that’s what will be most meaningful,” Coughlin said. “It was a great performance. I’m very proud of my team. It’s a 16-0 team, we know we can play with them. All those things. The next morning at 5 am I walk into my office and see the red light on the phone. A voice message. I pick up the phone and it’s John Madden. He’s saying, ‘Tom, I just wanted to call. Because I want you to know it’s the best thing that’s happened to the NFL in the last 10 years.’ He said: ‘This is the National Football League – we don’t play our players. We owe our fans a responsibility to perform every day. That’s what you did. I’m so proud to be a part of it. I’m very proud of what you’ve accomplished and what your team has accomplished.’ He said: ‘I’m very emotional right now. But I want you to know how I felt. I played for my team at our next team meeting. It was moving. Very touching.

Practice Notebook: Jeff Saturday Focused on Giants, Not Head Coach Interview | colts.com
On Wednesday, Saturday, he was asked what his proposal would be if he still plans to interview for the Colts head coach this offseason.
“Let me tell you – my mind doesn’t give a damn,” said Saturday. “I got the Giants, I’ve got a lot ahead of me. So I’m not even getting into the interviewing world. Let’s just stick with it – when it’s the end of the season, I’ll be happy to respond, but I’m not even thinking that way right now.”

Colts defense approaches Indy-era sack record after strong performance against Chargers | colts.com
The Colts collected four total sacks against the Chargers on Monday night, bringing their season total to 43 for the year; only the 2004 Colts (45 sacks) and 2005 Colts (46 sacks) have had more sacks as a group since the team moved to Indy in 1984.
“You know what? Honestly, it’s just guys playing for each other,” said defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, who had 1.5 sacks on Monday night to bring his season total to eight. “We’ve got a really tight group. And week after week, we can only control what we can control, and up front along the defensive line the guys are rooting for each other, even in these tough times.”

In announcing the quarterback move, McDaniels said the Raiders wanted to evaluate their younger players at multiple positions. Ron Rivera on Carson Wentz: We’re looking for a little spark | ProFootballTalk
Taylor Heinicke has led the team to wins in five of their first six games after Wentz was benched with a finger injury, but they have been 0-2-1 for the past two weeks. Heinicke had five turnovers in that span, including a pair against the 49ers last Saturday, before Rivera pulled him in favor of Wentz, who brought the team to a touchdown and Rivera said the change was made because the team is looking for “some little thing” at quarterback against the Browns this weekend.

NFL CMO Dr. Allen Sills: Tua Tagovailoa showed ‘nothing that would have triggered’ concussion protocol | nfl.com
“What our observers and our unaffiliated neuromedics are looking for is any blow that transmits force to the head or neck area followed by this injury behavior,” Sills said. “There were no visible signs, although there was a blow to the head and the player did not show any symptoms, despite having been in contact with the medical team throughout the game. So there was nothing triggering the protocol at the time.”
