Fans are showering Al Roker with love after he posts emotional health update

The 68-year-old recently gave an update on his health after your hospitalization for blood clots last month, sharing a series of photos On Instagram of his family decorating and posing in front of the Christmas tree – including his wife Deborah Roberts, along with their children Leila and Nick. “So grateful to be well enough to decorate the Roker family #Christmastree,” he wrote in the caption.

Fans, of course, were keen to fill the comments with messages of support for Roker. “So glad you are home and better… Enjoy the holidays with your family ❤️,” one user wrote.

There were many well wishes and holidays for the Today anchor too. “I miss you Al today. Praying for a full recovery. ❤️❤️❤️,” commented one fan, while another wrote, “So glad you are on the mend Al. Merry Christmas and looking forward to seeing you back in Today in the New Year!! Slow and steady wins the race!!”

Earlier this month, Roker returned home after a four-week stay in hospital. He was first hospitalized in late November for blood clots in his legs and lungs and was released around Thanksgiving in time to celebrate with his family – only to be “ran” back to the hospital within 24 hours of his release due to complications. Unfortunately, this forced the anchor to miss the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, as well as the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.

Fortunately, he was able to return home on December 8th just in time to prepare for Christmas, taking Instagram to share the good news.

“Home! So incredibly grateful to family, friends, medical staff, @todayshow family and all your thoughts and prayers,” Roker wrote at the time, alongside photos of himself in his family kitchen, including some with his wife and daughter.

Of course, there is no lack of support for Roker from its fans and Today colleagues on your road to recovery. O Today cast and crew – including co-hosts hoda kotb and Savannah Guthrie— even made sure to bring Roker some festive cheer to his home last week, surprising the weather anchor along the way. gathering at your door to sing carols🇧🇷

Later, Roker made a point of expressing his gratitude for the emotional surprise in a Instagram post🇧🇷 “Words cannot express how much I love my @todayshow family for coming out and singing a little bit, including a special version of ‘I’ll Be Home For #Christmas,'” he wrote.

Rocker also appeared in Today via a virtual video call last week to share an update on his health with his peers and viewers, admitting that his recent health struggles have been a difficult time for him – but that the outpouring of support and love has helped to bolster his spirit while he is in the repair.

“Listen, it’s been hard work. I will not deny it, ”she said. “It was the hardest yet… It gives you a deep sense of gratitude for this outpouring of prayers and thanks. I am a very fortunate person.”

As for when he’s coming back to Today, Roker shared that he cannot yet resume his duties on the NBC morning show as he is still focused on getting his strength back.

“You lose a certain amount of muscle mass every week you spend in the hospital, and I was in the hospital for four weeks,” he explained. “It’s just a certain amount of weakness. I’m doing physical therapy every day, occupational therapy. I just have to get my strength back.

We hope to see Roker back in Today show very soon – but in the meantime, we wish him a speedy recovery!
