The San Francisco 49ers are gearing up for their Week 17 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Deebo Samuel trained for the second straight day. The wide receiver is trying to recover from MCL and ankle sprains suffered during Week 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Fans won’t see Samuel return against the Raiders. The 49ers scrapped him for Sunday. However, Samuel could play in the 49ers’ regular season finale against the Arizona Cardinals.
“Let’s see how practice goes,” said coach Kyle Shanahan. “I mean, he has more practice than he did this week, but he has a chance.”
The 49ers could have opened the practice window for running back Elijah Mitchell this week. He was not seen in the early part of the training open to reporters.
“Actually, we would have opened [the practice window] today or maybe even yesterday, but he’s been home sick the last couple of days,” Shanahan explained. definitely starting next week.”
