Columbia Gas Budget Plan Registration Underway
Columbia Gas has announced that all customers with budget plans for 2022-2023 can now enroll. Throughout August, customers can sign up for budget plans in one of his three ways: Just pay the “budget payment” amount on your August invoice. Visit ColumbiaGasOhio.com/Budget online or call 1-800-344-4077 to speak with a customer service representative. Budget plans allow customers to avoid higher heating costs in winter by spreading payments over 12 months. Upon registration, the customer will pay the budgeted payment amount indicated on the monthly bill from August 2022 to July 2023. Budget payments are the same each month, eliminating guesswork in budgeting and avoiding higher heating costs in the winter. Accounts will be reviewed and adjusted as necessary to ensure accuracy in March.
Each customer’s budget plan is calculated individually by looking at previous usage rates, 30 years of typical weather, and current and estimated costs of natural gas. Budget plans are free and available to all Columbia Gas customers.
For customers in need, Columbia Gas announced that the Ohio Department of Development worked with PUCO to increase the Proposed Income Payment Plan Percentage (PIPP) threshold from 150% to 175% of the federal poverty level. We want to remind our customers of PIPP is a payment reduction program that allows eligible customers to pay as little as 5% of their monthly income or $10 each month for gas service.
